I Agree with the school for two reasons. the first reason is that it is not very healthy for you. The second reason is because we are 6th graders I don't think we need candy if we behave or do well on something like we did in 1st grade. I think that it should be changed to homework passes or maybe a privilege to sit in the yoga ball chair, the orange chair or your chair.
I disagree with it because everyone loves candy and it is a treat we only get it every once and awhile so i think think that it is fine. Something that we can do is maybe homework passes instead of candy.
i do agree because the teachers are bribing the kids to be good in order to get candy. instead i think you should give out homework passes.
I think its fair as long as they allow it as a birthday thing. The reason I think this is because candy is bad for you but it should be given as a little birthday celebration thing. I think every time a team wins, we get to have a class kickball game instead of extra - recess. The winning team gets to choose another team to play on their team.
Well.... yes and no. No, because kids should be able to have candy once in a while. Yes, because candy does make kids unhealthy, both they should be allowed to have it once in a while. My suggestion would be if by the end of each month we have at least 40 points altogether, we get rewarded with a movie day, pj day, game day, etc
I think that teachers should be allowed to give out candy only if the student(s) are being rewarded for good behavior. Most likely the same student wont get candy everyday and the teachers give out the fun size candy so the kids aren't getting a huge amount of candy.
-I cant think of anything to replace candy.
Instead of candy we can do homework passes. But instead the whole entire group getting 100% only one person needs to get it.
I think candy SHOULD be allowed in school because students can receive candy from teachers if they have worked hard or deserve it. If, however its not allowed then we should do small prizes or 1 class extra recess.
I don't agree because I think if u do something extra u should get rewarded. I think u should replace it with
I don't agree with this rule because little bits of candy do not make kids very unhealthy or start a bad habit. They actually start a good habit and that is if you do good things inside or outside of school you will get rewarded. If I had to choose something next to candy it would probably be homework passes
I disagree with this ENTIRE food change. We should have never hired the lady from the 3 schools and NEVER lost our food. After school when I go home, I eat a huge snack. This is because there are not enough snacks at our school.
Homework passes would be awesome though!
I think that no longer having teachers being able to give out candy is a good idea because you can get better stuff than candy and since they are making the cafeteria food more healthier. What you can do for rewards instead of candy are tattoos, pencils and erasers, and you get to sit in the ball chair thing.
I disagree with the new policy because when kids get candy they did something to earn that candy doing something right being nice to others I think we should make homework passes and prizes that's what I think about the new school policy
I disagree because kids should have a yummy reward after they worked hard, or earned it. I think little toys like bouncing balls, or silly putty and stuff like that can be given to kids who are good.
I agree and disagree with the schools choice. I agree because the school is worried about our health, and I like being healthy. I disagree because candy is a great reward for the great work kids have done, and it tastes good. I think we can substitute candy with apple slices because apples taste just like sugar. Another idea is, at my old school we did high five tickets. High five tickets are tickets that say "Be kind Be respectful and work hard", and the teachers will give the kids the tickets if their being kind, respectful and working hard. Then during an assembly the kids would put the tickets in a bucket and the principal would randomly pick a ticket and the kid with the ticket would get an homework pass or get any other prize. That's my opinion.
I think that you should give out like home work passes instead of the candy
I think that it is the WORST RULE IN HISTORY OF RULES!!! This is because every school I have been to I have gotten candy from at least one teacher.
Some awards could be getting prizes like slinkies, or you could get a homework pass, or you could get miniature toys.
I disagree with this new rule because if you don't have a lot of candy everyday it's not very unhealthy for you. It's not like you give a lot
candy so it can't be too unhealthy. I think a replacement should be decorated pencils, or something of that nature.
I think teachers should be able to give there students candy. I think this because students will work harder to try and get a piece of candy. I think homework pass's should replace candy because kids don't like homework and would like to skip it once and a while. That is what I think about you not being allowed to have candy and what should replace candy
I think it shoudn'd be allowed at school because it makes them wild
I agree with the rule of not having candy served to us by teachers. I agree because when the lunches were unhealthy, they tasted awful. Thanks to Mrs. Obama, the lunches are made by real chefs, they are healthier, and they taste great. If your teacher gives you a piece of candy everyday of the school year, it would add up to about 180 pieces of candy. Recently, obesity levels have been really high in the U.S. The least the teachers can do is keep their students healthy in the classroom by teaching them to fuel their brains, not their stomachs. If kids want to have desserts at home, no one is stopping them (except maybe their parents.) Also, teachers usually keep their candy in their closets or something like that, but overtime the candy might expire of just get really gross and sticky. Replacing the candy, might be something like stickers or pencils. Stickers may be a good idea because if and when you get one, you can stick on or in your notebook to remind yourself of achieving whatever you did. Pencils may be a good idea because sometimes students for get to bring a pencil or theirs broke and if they won something they can just use that pencil.
I think this good and bad. I think this because it is good health wise for a child to stop having a lot of candy. The other reason is having candy once in a while is fine to. My idea for another way to get a treat is every week we have a question and whoever raises their hand first and answers the question correctly gets a homework pass.
I think it was a bad idea to take away candy because that was a really fun way to be rewarded if you got 100 on a quiz or you and your group won a game or trivia. I think we could use homework passes or mini cupcakes
I think that candy should be given out to kids because so many kids want candy that they work harde to get the candy. I think that in stead of candy you could give out homework pases
I think that banding candy was good because kids need other things besides sugar to be motavated on. A good sudstitute for candy could be homework passes because it will still keep kids motavated but will not make them go hyper or get over motavated.
I agree with this rule because eating artificial candy is bad for you. Instead, we could have bouncy balls or rewards like if your team wins then for morning meeting they could come in a normal chair. Anyway, can you please use my idea of the bouncy balls? I would really appreciate it.
I Disagree with this statement the school system has made. Us students work hard everyday and we deserve a treat once in awhile. I think a reward teachers can give out are maybe little notebooks, sticker sheets, slinkies, or bouncy balls!
I disagree with this new rule because I feel that if you have candy once in a while, it won't really effect you. However, since this rule was passed, I think a good alternative might be little toys like yo-yos or whistles.
This rule doesn't seem as if if it will effect me because i am not much a fan of candy. We should have some sort of tokens or something that we can get homework passes, no homework for the whole class, and much more. Some of these will be very very expensive such as no homework for the whole class, or just homework passes. There should be other options too, just the ideas I could come up with today sure someone can revise this a little more.
I disagree with this rule because almost every teacher in the school has a candy jar or some sort of thing were they give out candy to their kids. I think that 1 or 2 pieces of candy a week won't hurt a kid. Also, I think that you should give out homework passes.
I strongly disagree of the new rule of giving kids no candy at school. I think that because if teachers give candy to kids in school the kids will study hard and work hard because they know if they do a good job they will get a reward. The kids will work harder which will increase the amount of good grades making this school the best school in ct
I think that the rule no candy can be given out by teachers is right. Students in this part of their lives lose teeth very often. Once they get their permanent teeth, their teeth might get cavities. Instead, I think teachers should give students things like tattoos (not permanent ones), apples, school related stuff (that might include pencils, pens, erasers, bookmarks, magnets, etc.).
i disagree because they already to the snacks away from the cafeteria and now there not letting teachers give students candy. Anyway, i think we should replace the candy with a no homework pass but only when the teacher says so.
I agree with the rule that no candy should be given out by teachers. This year our cafeteria has become healthier and if we don't have candy we will have will be healthier. If teachers give instead of candy items that last, non-edible items, then, it will be easier.
I think teachers should be allowed to have candy because its only one piece. Hows that going to hurt you, but since we're not allowed to have candy I say we should Have homework passes instead.
I really don't like how the school got all "healthy" in the last summer. I really disagree with all the changes. I do think that kids should get rewarded by there students. I think instead we should have an extra 5 min. Of recess.
I disagree with this decision because Mr. Bunel has a happy place full of candy and it is a good treat after you do something great. Maybe instead of candy we could have an alternative like Cheetos. They taste awesome!
I think instead of candy you should give out homework passes.
i disagree with this choice. i understand they want us to eat healthy but one small piece of candy wont make the school unhealthy. however i dont think we will change the choice they made. i really have no idea what we could put in the happy place. nothings as good as candy!
