I swear to God, this book is the only one I've read that brought out all the emotions in me. When the author brought humor into the book it really shined to me between all the dramatic events and the upseting events that took place, the humor was a good touch. He really had the mind of an 8th grader when he wrote this book because most of the authors I have read from wouldn't dare say some of the things he put into his book. When deaths and sickness comes around I usually don't cry or get emotional. I NEVER cry in movies; not once! That being said when the author brought these things up I didnt get teary but by the way some of my classmates looked, I could tell it really got to them. The angry. I get really mad when people think everything is all about them, and when they think they are sooo cool and all that, so when all Steven thought about was himself and didnt care about Jeffery and his Cancer, it made me really mad. I remember last year this girl on my team by accident hurt another girl, and all she said was, "OMG *(litteraly)* I am going to get in sooooo much trouble!" Gosh it mad me so mad, the girls were best friends too and that was all she cared about; So when Steven did this in my book it immediatley reminded me of this event and made me furious. That is how this book brought all the emotions out in me. (WOW this was really long!)

This book made many emotions be experienced. Sometimes it made me laugh because I had heard these kinds of things coming from people that I know. And other times it made me want to cry because I knew the pain Steven's family was going through with Jeffry's cancer. Sometimes I got angry for the charactor's cold sholder moments, when they shut each other out for fear that they would talk about the one thing that made them lose control of their emotions. This thing was, of course, Jeffry's leukimia, which none of them felt was fair.

The emotion this book gave me is laughter. In many places this book made me laugh like when Steven mentions the normal weeknight when Jeffery was home. Another is the end of Jeffery's letter to Steven or calling the parents the 'rents. Lastly is when Steven makes all these funny and sorta mean comments. These are a few times this book made me laugh.

One part that deffinatley made sad was when we were told that Jeffrey had leukimia. Another one was when Samantha died and her sister wasn't there to help her. Her mother was atleast. A few things made me laugh. One thing was when Steven commented on everybody. When I say commented I mean like commenting in a fiction way. Another thing that made me laugh was when Mrs. Alper walked into Steven's school dance and told the DJ to say on the microphone that Steven Alper was getting picked up. That one made me really laugh. Something that made me angry was when Steven only thought about himself. It made me angry because he didn't think of any one else and that he was the prince or the king.

This book is quite emotional because of character changes and because of peoples actions. An example of emotional character change is when Steven becomes a "man" and starts to think of other people before him. An example of emotional character actions is when Steven offered Jeffery a Tic-Tac. Sure it didn't help Jeffery any but Stevens intentions were good. Another example of emotional character actions is when Anette and Renee came up with the charity idea together for the Alper family. My last example of emotional character actions is when the people in the band shaved their heads for Jeffery.

One thing this book made me feel is disappointed. My brother said it was good and then i read it at camp and I did not like it. I thought it was bad. Also the book made me remember the descendants and that movie was really sad. It was really really sad. The book it self was not that sad. It was very cheerful for a cancer book actually. all the cancer books I read were sad. i really like sad books. The book DGADP was not that sad but it did trigger a sad movie in my life and I congratulate Jacob Sonneblock for that. I felt let down.

THE END

This book portrays the feelings of a middle schooler perfectly, and it is a great for my age group because they can make connections with Steven, and feel his emotions in more depth than and adult who read this book might. But this book makes its reader bring out emotions, no mater who they are. For example, when Samantha dies, that is for me the saddest and most tragic point in the book. An example of the more comical parts in this book is when Jeffrey is making the "Dangerous Pie" with Steven's special sticks. A moment in the book that made me angry was when Renne was tutoring Steven. She didn't pay attention to Steven because of Steven, but because of Jeffery!

The first thing i have to say is sad because when i here that Jeffrey has canser i felt awful. Even if its just a book i really could feel as if it was a real life and how devestating that could have been for the family. Another is Sad from when Steven had te leave his concert for Jeffrey and when he went to check on Samantha he learned that she had died. Lastly I was happy when steven got his award. I was appriciative that after he got his award he went to go see the healing Jeffrey.

This book brought out so many emotions, if you tried to count them all you`d be anchent history. One example of emotion in this book is when Steven remembers Samantha telling him to never leave his brother and always stay by his side, so he leaves his All-city highschool band concert to be with his brother. This brought out emotion in the way that it made you want to cry. It did that beause it makes relise that family is more important than any concert will ever be. Another thing that made you have strong emotion is that When Steven get his sticks back from Samantha. He says " Oh God, now I have two pairs of special sticks." This makes you want to go AWWWWWWWWW. It does this because we know how special his other sticks were, and to say that means Samantha was very close to him, even though that he didn`t know her that well. theese were only two examples of how much strong emotion there was in this book.

This book made me want to cry when it said that Samantha died. It also made me laugh when Jeffrey said moat meal it just was a funny word. I was disapointed when it annouced that he was sick. It made me wonder what Jeffrey was thinking that was happening to him. Last it made me happy when the band shaved thre heads for Jeffrey I thought that it was kind.

This book made me sad. One example of this is when Samantha dies. Also when her sister was not there to be with her. This book also made me laugh because of some of the humor and attitude Steven had. Finally I was mad because why would a sister not be there when her little sister has cancer and is DYING!!!!!!!! That is how I felt when I read this book.

Well, ill start off with how this book made me laugh. This book made me laugh when in the beggining of the book when he had to write that paper of his and he went on, and on, and on, about his life. It was funny with some of his details he used. The book made me angry when everything was getting worse for Jeffery's condition. It also made me furious when there bills was very expensive. WHY COULDN'T IT JUST WORK OUT FOR THEM!!!!!! What made me sad and want to burst into tears was the end. When Steven figured out Samantha died, this made me extremely sad.

Books that bring out emotions are amazing, and this is one of them. For example, it was funny and made me laugh in the epiloge, when Steven notices that he got a music award after he skipped the big concert. But, the book made me sad, too. This happened when Samantha died and Steven got upset. I got angry at Steven in the beggining when he considered no feelings but his own. This shows how the book bought out emotions.

Well I certainly felt a lot of feelings while reading this book. One example that made me laugh was when Stevens mother was accusing him of shoving Jeffrey off the stool. I really thought it was funny how Steven knew he was not going to win that argument so he just told her that he full-on body slammed him. I found this to be abrupt and very funny. Some things that slightly irritated me was a few characteristics of how he talked. For example, I found it kind of abnormal that he referred to his parents as " 'rents". I don't understand why he felt he had to abbreviate it like that. Another thing I found unusual and irritating was how he called girls "babes". This I simply just don't get. It is not 1987. They are not babes. Something that made me angry was how selfish and narcissistic he could be at times. Like when he felt relieved that his brother had leukemia. That I just could not stand. A part I found very sad was when Steven found out Samantha had died. I found that to be so depressing.

A part that made me want to cry was when Samantha died. I thought it was so sad that she died at such a young age and that her sister wasn't with her. A part that made me angry was when Steven found out that Jeffery had cancer and he felt relief. A part that made me laugh was when Jeffery's only goal for the concert was to say, "Yay Steven, THATS MY BROTHER" even though his mom was going on and on about how he should be good and polite.

drums, girls, and dangerous pie was a fantastic book! Sometimes it made me want to laugh (most of the time i did :( ) it made me laugh because jordan sonnenblick made it sound like an 8th grader. most of the time steven sounded soooo sarcastic it was funny! Other times it made me angry because i read like half of the book a while ago and i knew what was gong to happen and i was so frusterated that steven didnt help jeffrey. But, most of the time it made me want to cry! When steven shaved his head for jeffrey i wanted to ball! It made me want to cry because when i was little i had a neighbor, maddy. she had luekemia she was only 9 and she lost all her hair. One day she came over and she told me that her dad shaved his head for her! she was in tears! it meant so much to her! i moved and havent seen her since i really hope she is ok and is done battling cancer!

Well this book was great. It made me angry when he thought about himself, like when Steven's dad didn't talk to him for a month he didn't think about how his dad was traumatized but how it affected HIS feelings. This book made me sad when Samantha died because her sister wasn't there but Steven kept his promise to stay with Jeffy. This book made me laugh several times, like when he snapped at his dad and went on a rampage. These are some examples to when this book made me laugh, cry, and very angry.

This book has played with my emotions because all of us can relate to some of the parts in the story in some way. Where good or bad. We are kids just like characters (some). This happens to me because when I read a book I see everything and I put my self in the story so I can like the characters.

well some parts that made me laugh was when Jeffery calls oatmean "moatmeal." The reason why is because even though Steven tries to tell him the right way he still calls it moatmeal. Some thing that made me sad was when Jeffery splied of his stool and bashed him nose on the counter. But, it wasnt just that he also has cancer was also sad. The reason why that was sad because a kid at such a young age has cancer and the number on thing that comes to your mind is him being very sick or him dying. Another thing that got me sad was Stvens "new friend" Samantha had died when Steven got to the hospital. And that showed that Steven now knows that theres other people in the place that needs more attention. Also, nothing really got me angry because like most kid like Steven they would put there self before anybody else would. So, like i said before nothing really got me upset.

There were a lot of diiferent things that maed me feel different. One of the ways that made me laugh was when the author made the comversation between Steven and Jeffrey sound like they were actual brothers in real life, how they argue and use sarcasm. A part that made me sad was when Samantha died because it was a sad part in the book because someone died and there not everyone in here family was there with here. Some parts made me angry because of the decision that the characters made because there weresome that made a lot of more sense. Those are examples of how this book made me feel.

This book made me laugh every chapter because jeffy was so funny and always embarassed steven. This book made me angry because why did jeffy have to be diagnosed with such an awful disease. This book mostly made me cry because at the end when jeffy yelled to steven i luv u and he couldnt hear him that made me sad. Another reason why this book made me cry is when samanth died because of lukemia thats really sad. So these are the things my emotions did during the book.
