The reason why they are suffering from dehidration is because if they drink the sea water it will dehydrate them even more and it will kill them fatser. It is ironic because they need water and there is a whole ocean around them they could drink from its just that they cant.
Being dehydrated while at sea is very possible. Though you are surrondued by water, its salt water. And salt water when drank, makes you even more thirsty because of how heavly salted it is. Salt makes you extremly thirsty. Even though you have probably already drank a lot of slat water you are STILL thirtsy so you drink more trying to quench your thirst. If you drink to much water, then you can die. This is an example of irony because you are thrisy and may die from it but you are surronded by water that isnt drinkable.
when the six men had to be on the LIFE BOAT they where experiencing something like irony with there water problem. the men had no water and where dying of thirst and people would think well there are in the middle of the ocean and water is surrounding them why don't they just drink the water.well there is one simple reason which is people cant dink SALT water, but back to the point this is like irony when there is so much of something ( the salt water) but out of so much there isn't the one thing you need ( pure water). there is so much water around the men, but no matter how thirsty they get they can't drink any of the water around them o else they wold die.
Its possible to be dehydrated because they cant drink the salt water will make you thurstier and eventualy you could die and they havent been filtering the water so they cant drink any thing.
I think that it's posssible to be surrounded by water that you can't drink because of salt water. Salt water I think can make you dehydrate faster, so being surrounded wouldn't help. This is an example of irony because of the fact that water is everywhere and they can't drink it. It reminds me of the poster in our class that states:
Water, water everywhere, yet not one drop to drink.
Or it says something like that.
They can't drink it because it is salt water which will make you thirsty. Which will make you dehydrated. That's why they can't drink the water. Like the poster in class says "So much water, yet none to drink."
The six members of the crew are suffering from dehydration. It is ironic because the member of the crew are surrounded by water but it is undrinkable water. The water that they are surrounded by is ocean water which is also known as salt water.
Well....I looked up the definition of irony and it practically meant not going as planned or in other words taking a different direction. To me I can definitely tell how this is irony: 6 men on a small boat, their boat is struggling to survive, and they are all suffering from dehydration. No one can ever imagine this; it's taking a turn. - Adelina
This is because of the fact that the water is below zero and there is bacteria and bugs not to mention the fact that animal are in that water and they have to go to the Bathroom to.
I know that they can boil it but the salt water may still be in there and salt water makes you even more dehidrated. the boiling is not for salt water because the salt will not melt some times. Plus think of this, the boiler they have was in the water in the food on the ground and on the ship were people have steped. Just nasty. That is why the water/pot is not good to drink and the examle of irony.
This is irony because whater is essential, they are surrounded by it, and thay can't drink any of it because it's salt water. It would be so tempting to drink the water that spreads out in every direction, but you just can't. This is an example of irony because they need water badly, and water is all around them, kinfd of like being a hungry servant at a feast.
The men are surrounded by salt water that they can't drink. They need to drink fresh water to be hydrated, but there isn't any fresh water. It is irony that they are dehydrated while they are surrounded by tons of water.
The salt water that is around them is not meant for drinking. So if they drank it, they would instantly become sick. It is an example of irony because they have no water to drink but yet, there is water everywhere arond them.
I think that the 6 men on the boat were surrounded by water but were still suffering from dehydration because the water they were surrounded in was salt water. They can't drink the salt water because it has salt in it. Salt just makes you more thirsty than you were before. Also there are animal life in the water and it could be dirty from the pollution. Like oil spills or people throwing things into the water at the beach like glass or plastic. That is why the 6 men on the boat were surrounded by water but they were suffering from dehydration.
This is possible because there is salt it the sea water so if they drink it, they will dehydrate faster. This is an example of irony because irony means something that maybe is normal for something to do or someone but then is changed and is mocking in a way.
this is possible because there is salt in sea water and if you drink it it will make you dehdrate faster and you will be sick from the salt . this is an example of irony because there is water around but none to eat its almost unfair
The 6 men are suffering from dehydration, but they can't have water because it's salt water. It's ironic because they are surrounded by a whole ocean.
It is possible for them to dehydrate because they are surrounded by water but they can't drink it. Since the water is salt water themore you drink the more dehydrated you get.
Why this is irony is becuase may i use a quote "water water everywhere but not one drop to drink" this meaning there is salt in the water which makes them parcher then that leads to dehydtration.this happned because the rowing and talking and water is pouring over the bows. so they might talk and it flyies into their mouths our the air around them is just salty and they just get deyhidrtated,
It is ironhy because they are surrounded by water but it is all salt water so they cant drink it. That is a example of ironhy because there is water but none to drink
