I think some of the cons are that they are really boring and sometimes really challenging. Also I think there are very few pros but one is is that they help test you on how well you know things. Those are what I think the pros and cons are of standarized tests like the CMTs
Well I've only had one year of CMT's so I'm not much of a judge. How ever this is what I did notice.
PRO'S: Less actual school and no morning work
CON'S: INCREDIBLY BORING AND LONG OMGOMGOMGOMG
Those are my pro's and cons of the CMT's.
Honestly, I dont think that there are any pro's of taking the CMT's. (Other than that we get the candy hehe) I mean honestly, pretty much no one likes testings. We are pressured, stressed and intimidated by the people around us. SOOOO getting to the point: There aren't really any pro's about the CMT's and LOTS of cons.
A pro to the CMT's, well there isn't much, but one is there is a moment of silence, and its kind of peaceful. Some cons to the CMT's are that you are taking tests where the grade will be there for life. It could affect where you go to college. Another con is that there is a lot of pressure, well, at least for me, and i absolutely strongly dislike pressure.
I think that there are more cons than pros when it comes to the cmts. One pro is though cmts take a lot of the day. But the cons are it is boring it is important it is long it is repetitive from other years and many more. That is what I think. -Jonny
That is sort of an opinion. In my opinion the pros of taking the CMTs are the way our schedule gets changed because of them. This is a pro because I like the way our schedule is during testing. Another pro is all the sweets that people bring in to get your academic "juices" flowing before the test. The only con that I have is when I finish early and have checked my test over more than once and have to just sit there in my seat for the remaining time. It just gets really boring. The only other con I can think of is the writing section, I'm just not a fan of writing at all. IT'S HORRIBLE! Oh, and the fact that once we finish testing our schedule goes back to being normal and it makes me sad because I don't like it that way. Other than that testing just isn't that bad.....I kind of enjoy it. :P
I mostly think CMT's are full of cons for the student. There is too much pressure to do well from teachers and adults, and the officialness of it makes it even more stressful. One pro is it is a good way to evaluate the teaching ability of the school and the teachers in the school.
The pros of standardized tests are that everyone is quiet so you can focus because you will get basically killed if you talk. Also, you might get candy out of it. And the teachers are all nice and give little homework while they are happening. The cons are that they are terrible things that no one likes. And if you get confused on the meaning of a math term, you start freaking out.
The pro is that you can show how smart you are but the con is that you get nervous so you don't do as well
A pro of the CMT`s is that it will enablr you to get help. It does this by that if you get a bad grade on something, people will see and they will help you. A con of the CMT`s is that some kids might get nervous or streesed. Also, they are so incredably boring they make you want to fall asleep
Well there aren't any pros to the CMTs. One is that there is a 90 minute delay scheduale. Another pro is that we get candy before it. The cons are that they are 2 weeks of tests everyday for around an hour eachday.
The pros and cons of the CMT's are no homework and studying.A pro for CMT's are that you have no homework and you have nothing to do at home and relax. One con is hat you have to spend a lot of time studying for tests. One more con is that you have a limited time to actually do the test if you could have more time i would think that would be better specifically the writing prompt.
CMTs are NOT a good tests. I do not think that they are horrible because no matter what you have to take them so why complain! So I only have one pro that I can think of.That pro is that the teacher give you candy so it dose give you more energy to take the test. I have MANY cons about the CMTs but I will only share 3. My fist con is that you may not remember anything that day and you may not feel good either. My second con is that they are won of those things that you are good at but there is to much pressure for you to do good on it. My last and final con is that for the math CMT. If you do good and get 100's on most of your tests that year and you do not do that great on the CMTs, again bringing up the second point that you are to pressured, that dose not matter because they only grade you on that one test!!! That is why I do:) and do NOT:( like the CMTs.
I have a takin a standarized test (if thats what cmts are). The pros are that it prepares for other big tests but it can be very difficult for some kids.
One pro is that it helps you review material. A con is they are very stressful.
I dont really mid the cmts they are just kind of a part of schooling to me, but a con is that you arent allowed to read to pass time if you finish early. I dont like how you just have to sit there. I dont really have any pros because i dont really enjoy testing but i guess you could say a pro is that it uses up our scholl time :P
Yes i do have experience with taking standardized tests a con is that YOU CAN'T READ WHEN YOU ARE DONE! Aggh so annoying there is no pros to the CMTs even though they are a part of Ct education till the SATs.
I honestly have no pros only cons. One of the cons is that CMTs mess up the entire scheduele up. Another one is that IT IS SO BORING!!!!!!!! And lastly why do we have to do them???? CMTS MAKE ME WANT TO KILL WHOEVER MAKES THEM!!
I can't think of anything good to type, so I am going to write cons.m the cons are that the test is long, and the rules are terrible and make me confuzzled. The tests just don't test my skill, only my patience.
Pros: ont hing that is good for the CMTs are that you can show yoof your knowledge and see what you have learned so far in the school yea even though that we were half way down withvthe school.
Cons: the cons for the CMTs are that they are way to long for us kids to do and once we are done with them you can't eat or just do anything but sit there and look like you are way to smart for this test.-KobeB24
One of the pros is that they get to see what you know in all. Another pro is that you get candy to make your brain work faster. A couple cons are, well for one if you had an off day then you didn't test well. Another con is that you could ace all the tests in regular classes but on one day mess up. This is all I have to say good by.
One of the pros is that it shows what you have learned. Also another pro is that you sometimes get candy to hipe you up. Another pro is that you get to be with your teacher for 45 minutes to an hour. Some cons are that you are not allowed to talk. Also you may not have food or drink during these tests. The last con is that you may not do anything after you are done.
