i liked this book as much as i did Drums Girls and Dangerous pie because I think the two book are very similar in what the really book actually talkies about. like in Drums Girls Steven has to deal with a person close to hime having cancer which is Jeffrey and then he meats a girl who ends up being his girlfriend and then someone he also knows dying of cancer (Samantha). In After Ever After it is almost the same Jeffrey who has had cancer before meets a person who has also has cancer (Tad) and then he has relapsed so he is having cancer again and he ends up dieting. So i think these two book are really good, but they are way to similar.
As I sit here on the hard chair and think about this question, I wonder Jordan Sonnenblicks reasoning for writting a sequel to Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie. This leads into my answer to this question. I read last year both of these books for reading groups and book reports and I didn't dwell on them as much as I am now, personally myself I liked Drums, Girls better; to me it had more description, more heart-warming moments, and it had more desription and was more of a story. What I mean by that "more of a story" is in After Ever After, it was mostly Jeffrey and his friend problems, girl problems, and missing Steven. I would have like to see Jordan put more emphasis on this book; I would have liked to hear from Jeffrey how he felt during cancer and what he remebers from his miraculous journey at a very young age. Honestly, drums, Girls was more background and climaxs's. Samanta, Annette, All-City, and Jeff having cancer. To me, After, Ever, After didn't have much description and climax's. So, now you know how I feel about the book, I thnk this is my least favorited Jordan Sonnenblick book, for the fact not having much description, messages, and no major story. I mean if someone asked you, how would you some-up After, Ever,After and what is the major turning point for the character in it. I would make up some wierd answer. I mean what would say?? Tell me tomorrow....maybe you should ask the class that!
( Sorry, its very sophisticated...not)
I loved this because it was so inspiring and interesting! I cant choose between after ever after and drums girls.they are both just so good and they really change your perspective!!!!!!
I enjoyed the book. I thought that it was well written and that it was a just good book. It had good detail. I did like it better then drums girls, but I am not sure why. It's just something about it that is better.
Hmmmm.... Well I really did like this book. It was inspirational and touching. I would rate it 6.9, but not quite 7. I would have changed how at the end Jeffy found out about Tad. I would of had him find out before the race that Tad died and then struggle in his race and think of Tad to help him move forward. I think that might have made the book end a more special way. I don't really know which book I like better. I like in Drums, Girls how Steven grows more through the story more drastically than I think Jeff does. I like Drums girls maybe a 6.9 for Drums Girls too.
I thought that the book was a really good book and I wouldn't really change anything about it. But I really did think that it was a very good book. I think that I like both books equally but I think that I would have to say that After Ever After was a slightly better book than Drums Girls and Dangerous Pie. I thought that it was a better book because it in After Ever After Jeffrey had more problems to go through than Steven so the book got a little more intense so I thought that was the only thing that made After Ever After a better book. In Drums Girls and Dangerous Pie Steven didn't really had to face many problems just he had to go through more changes than problems. But other than that I thought that both books were great books.
I did like the book, even though it wasn't really my type. If I had to change anything to make the book better, I would have made Jeffery a worse biker, I would have made the bike ride 100 miles and I would have made the bike ride a lot more a big deal, kind of like the River Run.
I absolutely loved the book but I would've added a conversation at the end with Jeffrey and Steven to me it would have made a huge difference. But either way it was very good
I did enjoy the book After Ever After a great deal. I enjoyed it because it told Jeffery’s point of view about his life. For example, the book talked about Jeffery’s love life, his friends, and family. Jeffery also said the things he disliked about Steven, his biggest idol.
I like the book After Ever After, better then Drums Girls and Dangerous Pie. I preferred it because had a better understanding of the story. I understood and connected with the characters in the story After Ever After.
I really liked After Ever After! It was a touching, well spoken and fantastic book! It was written extremely well and was a great sequel to Drums girls and Dangerous pies! I'm not sure which book I liked better because they were both well written books.. I think that After Ever After had more of a teenage writing where as Deums Girls wasn't as mature as the sequel! But they were both fantastic books that were touching and well meanings!
I did absolutely enjoyed this book. I thought it was well planned out and very detailed. I did enjoy Drums Girls a little better because of the plot and the ending. I would not change anything because it was just what you want from a sequel. It is one of my favorite books.
I think that After Ever After was a better book than Drums. It was cool to see Jeffrey's perspective when he was in treatment and what he thought of Steven as a 5 year old. I did enjoy After Ever After. I wouldn't change anything about the book except about Tad's heart failure but I think it would of messed up the point of the series. It made the emotional side of the book more effective. That is what I think about the book After Ever After.
I thought the book was really awesome! It was funny and emotional! I thought that at the end, it was so meaningful and upsetting, but I loved the emotion in it. I know know If I liked drums girls. Better than after ever after. I think they are equall! I thought both books were spectacular! They were also very Inspiring at times! This book = the
I liked this book more than Drums Girls because it is more humorous, I know there were sad parts, but look at the happy things. I didn't like how Tad died, I would have had him be able to come back and walk across the stage. So That could receive a diploma instead of having a liver failure and dying.
I'm gonna have to say that I liked this better then d g and dp, only because I almost cried at the end and it was very emotional. I really did enjoy both books and I would like to read more Jordan sonnenblick books because I really like his style of writing. What book are we reading now? I really like these books and I loved this one-it really related to us teens!
This book was amazing! I loved it and think it was the best book we've read yet. I would not change anything. This book was discrivev and well thought and you could see it and the connections. Espeshaly the end .
I liked the book a lot. Thought it was really good and had the right mixture of funny, sad and weird. But at the end I was kind of confused because first his mom is crying and then the graduation and then they were talking about Tad not being there and no one ever just said that he had died. Then he went to the grave yard to talk to Tad and it did not really make sense to me. I liked Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie better just because it was the orginal and you can't beat it.
I think that After Ever After is a fantastic book. In the beginning, Jeffery is sarcastic and grumpy just like Steven was. Towards the end, he got mature, just like Steven did in Drums, Girls, and Dangerous pie. I wouldn't change anything about it. I think Drums, Girls, and Dangerous pie it better than After Every After. The book has so many things that you can kind of relate to. You feel more comfortable reading Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie
I liked this book alot I personnally liked it better than drums girls why I like this book better is because I felt it was more in depth with his cancer and trying to stand up.I dont think I would change anything with this book I thought it was good as it was.
