The reason he uses this type of language is to show voice. The way that it shows voice is the realism in real life is that most kids Steven's age talk with sarcasm. I also think that he knows how to use it. If you put voice in every part in the story it louses meaning. In his point of view he use it in thoughts and dialog.
I think that Jordan Sonnenblick uses a lot of sarcasm because that is how kids usually talk because they want to be funny or its just to put emphasis on something and Steven is a kid.
The reason I think jordan sonnenblick uses so much sarcasm is simple: Steven is a teenager. Once you get to a certain age ( tween/teenager) sarcasm is something you use alot, towards a number of people, teachers, friends, peers, and of course parents. I for one am not an adolescent quite yet but still use quite an exuberant amount of sarcastic comments so I can't imagine how my parents will get by in the next few years. Also, when he came to our school Steven, in the book drums girls and dangerous pie was very much his personality and character. I think one reason his book is so popular is that even though they don't admit it they all go through a sarcastic phase, which helps them relate to Stevens character. This is what I think of the reasoning for so much sarcasm.
I think he uses that kind of language because it tells or shows you mor on how Steven fells about this situation. It can also make the book ore interesting. When Steven is using sarcasome it can show that he doesn't feel like talking or feels up set.
I think Jordan Sonnenblick uses a lot of sarcasm when he tells the story between Stevens point of view because he wants to show how Steven feels when he is told that Jeffrey was diagnosed with cancer unoffiacaly. He wants to show how mad he is at his friend for caring for him like he was his mom and at his dad for ignoring him when he needs the most support. Also he is mad at his mom for leaving him to go to Philly where he thinks they are having the time of their life.
I think that Jordan sonnenblick uses a lot of sarcasm in drums girls and dangerous pie because that is what most kids or teenagers more use. So using that makes the dialogue sound more realistic. He may also use it because some adults also use sarcasm so that might be a way of kinda showing that Steven is older. Maybe he also uses it because with Jeffery in the hospital in Philly it may make him let to a little bit of all of his thoughts. Like, he normally uses sarcasm so it is almost like he is being normal and his whole life is normal.
I think Jordan Sonnenblick uses this type of language to give Steven character. I think that because if Steven didnt have sarcasm he would be just like any other character. Also it brings Steven to life and makes you feel like he could be real. It also gives Steven feeling and emotion. That is why I think Jordan Sonnenblick uses sarcasm.
I think that he uses sarcasm from Steven's point of view, because people his age and my age use sarcasm. They use sarcasm because they think its very humorous to them. Using sarcasm makes many, many jokes. Some people my age and Steven's age maybe think life is boring without being sarcastic. Because Steven is sometimes egocentric, He likes using sarcasm against other people in a rude way.
Probably so children can see things from stevens point of view. So people can see it exactly as steven ment it. Also it kind of just roles in to jordan sonnieblicks personality. After meeting him you can tell he is kind of a goofy sarcastic funny guy. So i think that is probably part of the reason you will see so much sarcasim in his writing
We talked about Jordan Sonnenblick using a great deal of sarcasm in the story from Steven's point of view. My opinion of why he uses a lot of this language is because Steven is getting close to being in high-school. Teenagers can be rude and sarcastic to others at times. They may do this because they want to think they're cool. Steven is using sarcasm to show that he's mad. Steven is mad because his brother has leukemia.
i think he uses langulage for humer. im sure many other athur us sarcasem. when an athur ues sarcasem its almost like u can hear the characters voice or thoughts. Older kids like steven tend to use more of it then most people. this is because kids use it mostly in a funny way plus they think there cooler when they do it.
He uses that type of language because it is a sad story and tries to make it funny. A little kid has leukemia, which is pretty sad, but with sarcasm, it might make it better for kids. I mean you don't want to write a story that makes kids cry. So you should put some humorous, happy, or positive parts in it.
I think Jordan sonnenblick did a good job of using sarcasim. He did it because he wants there to be humor as well in the book. Jordan also maybe did it so we can really understand what Steven is feeling and thinking. When he adds the sarcasim to this book, it made it more enjoyable to read. It doesnt bore you like other books with less sarcasim and humor.
I think jordan sonnablick uses sarcasm in his books because it makes the reader keep attention to the book because most of the time when sarcasm is used it can creates drama and sillness. This is why people read jordans books.
I think that Jordan Sonnenblick uses a lot of sarcasim in his book because it gives reminders to the people that are reading the book that Steven is still really young.
Well........ I think that Jordan Sonnenblick uses a lot of sarcasm when Steven talks because many teenagers talk with a lot of sarcasm, because they sound funny and when you write it is very powerful to use sarcasm. But when you are talking to another person sarcasm can be very hurtful. Many teenagers talk with sarcasm to be rude to adults and you can get in a lot of trouble when you do that. So that is why I think that Jordan Sonnenblick uses a lot of sarcasm in his book
I think that Jordan Sonnenblick uses this sarcasm in his book to try and connect how real preteens and teenagers talk, many kids can connect to what he is feeling and why he uses sarcasm becasue they can use it to. I think it is a smart decision becasue you should always try to connect to the reader when writing.
I think jordan sonnenblick is using sarcasm to makethe story realistic because it can make it more belivable and that how most teenagers act. Also it can put humor into the story.
I think Jordan Sonnenblick uses sarcasm because many teenagers like Steven use sarcasm, they feel that every joke needs sarcasm in order to be funny. It is their little inside joke. When you use sarcasm it might hurt some people if they can't take a joke,it also can get you in a lot of trouble when you talk to your parents because they might think that you are trying to be cool, and try to change they subject on what they talk about. That is why I think he uses sarcasm.
I think the author uses alot of sarcasm because it brings alot of voice into the writing. And the kids that the story is based on would use alot of sarcasm. It isn't always used in a mean way it can be used to tease your friends. It can also be used more like a code. That's why the author uses sarcasm.
I think Jordan Sonnenblick uses sarcasm because 1, it makes it more humorous and 2, we can relate to that. Jordan Sonnenblick is very clever in that way. He knows that his readers are about that age, when we use sarcasm alot, and have probably used it in tough situations, although probably not as tough as Stevens. It creates great oppertunity to let the readers create a closer connection with Steven, so that you know how he feels when he uses sarcasm to not be scared, mabye, in tough times, or just to be funny.
