I think the small comment helped Jessica grow quite a ton. It helped her too notice how lucky she is. I think that she feels this way because when you look at Rosa, who has been in a wheelchair, unable to talk her whole life, she more lucky by far. Sure, she may not run anymore, but Rosa never even had the chance.
well i think tht what Rosa said will make a HUHE impact on Jessicas ife bevause now that Jessica has choosen to look at things the brghter way ( she has done something great) she is also gong to take in the fact that she is very lucky unlike Lucy that died in this accident Jessica only lost HALF of her leg she could have died too or lost her whole leg or even both legs. sso now she is relizing she is really lucky ad she will keep remnding herself that so those four word "you are a lucky person" will probably be somethig else that will gide Jessica the right way.
I think that the small comment that Rosa made will effect the growth of Jessica as a person. In the story you can even tell when we read ahead of when Rosa made the comment Jessica realizes that she is lucky because Rosa was crippled all her life and Jessica just now had to amputate her leg. Also Jessica is getting a bionic leg and I don't think that Rosa can get a bionic leg. Or at least it is taking a long time for the doctor/scientist to make the legs for Rosa.
I think the small comment can show how Jessica grows as a person. All this time she has been complaining how unlucky she was to never run again and that she didn't have part of her leg. Rosa has to be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life unless she's wearing crutches. Jessica is getting her new leg in like a week, she is incredibly lucky. She is lucky to have part f her leg leftover, lucky to be alive.
I think this small comment will affect her life. Earlier today I saw Mr. Bunel change a kids mood by telling him a story about a kid who died. He was using perspective. By telling this kid about an even sadder story the kid realized how lucky he was and he changed his mood. The same thing happened with Jessica. She realized that she could have it a lot worse. SHe was going to get a new leg. She was going to be out of the wheelchair someday.
I think when Rosa told Jessica how lucky she was that she will make her see things on a positive note. Ever since she had broke her leg life had been tough on her. It made it worse since she had a pessimistic attitude. Now this comment could change her prospective on things. I think she will use it as motivation.
Yes because there are people even more unfortunate than Jessica, that are stuck with some type of disadvantage that can't be fixed. Jessica can have a fake leg to help her walk around, but some people don't have a thing to help them. For example, if you have a disease, you might not be able to survive it.
I think this comment does play a major role in the way Jessica grows. It plays a big role because it showed Jessica that everybody has something worse they deal with. For example, Rosa is a special needs girl who is going to be in a wheel chair for the rest of her life. While Jessica has just gotten her leg amputated, and is going to be in a wheel chair for one more week until she receives a prosthetic leg.
I think it will because she thought about what rosa said it made her realize how lucky she is
Yes, I think that this comment will effect how she grows, and how she sees her disability. I think that she will realize how lucky she is that she isnt wheelchair bound and she can find a way to live around her disability. She will be able to walk again. She may not be able to run, but she can walk as to Rosa probably won't. So even though she lost a leg, that doesnt mean she will ever walk again. She will but Rosa won't. Rosa never walked before.
Yes because i think that she realized that she is lucky that she wont always be in a wheel chair like Rosa. And that she is lucky to be alive unlike Lucy.
Oh yes. This is just like my mom says. Jessica knows that she could be worst like Rosa. She even thinks in her head that she won't be in the wheelchair her whole life.so yes this will impact her throu her life growing up.
Defintley! This is my opinion because Jessica has been up upset and frustrated. She has wondered why She was the one who lost her leg. But when rosa tells Jessica that she is very lucky, she starts to look in other people's perspectives. Lucy died, but Jessica gets a 2nd chance at living with her family and friends.
I think this could effect her role. Her conversation with Rosa could motivate herself to be strong about her situation. It could give motivation towards how Rosa is and what she can be. How Rosa was born with a condition to stop her from doing anything she wanted. Jessica should be lucky she still can
Yes I do think that the comment from Rosa will help Jessica grow as a person because it is coming from someone that is experiencing the same things as Jessica is right now. Rosa said, "You are lucky though because at least you getting a leg back." That made Jessica think that even though I will never run again, I will be able to walk on two feet which is very important. People like Rosa have been handicapped their whole life and will be handicapped their whole life. That made Jessica think that maybe she does not have it that bad.
I think this small comment will play a major role in Jessica's life because from someone else's point of view, Rosa's, she see's Jessica as a hero and someone that is very brave in a time of grief. But, in Jessica's mind she feels a little hopeless and still in owe of what had happened.Just like in Drums, girls, and dangerous Pie there was a moment when it clicked for Steven. I think this is Jessica's moment of truth, not only to herself but to the people around her, who see what she has one through.
Yes, because it will get Jessica motivated to be better. Also, because she could have been Lucy who didn't survive.... things could have of been worse. She is lucky because she can talk and eventually walk which is totally out of the picture for Rosa. To Rosa Jessica is the lucky one!
