By looking at the cuisine of a country, you can learn many thingss. For example, you can learn the kinds of things they eat often. Also, you can learn about how they prepare foods in that country. In China, I found that they steam at least some of thier foods.
It can tell what kind of plants grow in that area if there's plants in it.
I think it shows us how important some specific foods are to the culture.
Well, say if a country ate a lot of citrus fruits, where do people eat that? You would have to look at some clues. Maybe they live on a tropical island, like the bahamas or Hawaii. They eat a lot of Citrus foods in Hawaii. Oksy told me this, in Qutar they eat a lot of different kabobs.
I think you can learn many things from the cuisine from a country. You can learn what kind of agriculture they have there. For example if you saw that they had rice patties in a country you would assume that they grow rice in that country. That is what I think you can learn from the cuisine of a country.
what you can learn by looking at the cuisine of another country is information. Information such as what kinds of foods they eat. What style of eating and foods is native in that particular country. Yummmm
By cooking food from other contries, you can learn how other people think of food. Like, if all of the food from your contry is very bitter, that probobly means that people from that contry don`t mind bitter food. Also, you can learn that if foods are very hard to make from your contry, you can realise how much work people from your contry to make thier food. That is what i think you can learn form your contry`s food.
(I have my geographer's cap at the dry cleaners right now but I'll do my best:) you can learn about the area that they have from what they grow or raise, and the spice content or name might show relationships with other countries. For example, my food's name means Greek vegatables which shows that they are very close with Greece.
You can learn a bit about a country's culture by looking at their food. For example, you can see what types or food they eat and what kinds of food they grow.
you can learn what type of food they like and sort of what they are like in daily life. Also you can learn how much they eat and what a serving size is for them.
Well, for one you can learn what type of food they like, and their culture. Like, what the climate is. For example if there was cactus in your food you would know that they are in a desert. Also you can learn how they eat. Like, with chop sticks, or regular utenciles. You ca learn what animals are their, if Saudi Arabia ate snake, for example, you would eat snake. This is all I can think of but I would love t hear what the rest of the class has to say on this interesting topic.
hmmm well when I look at food and I see bright color and greens, orange, red, and yellow I know that there must be many vegtables in this dish. If there are yellows, whites and browns I know that there must be many cheeses, starches and grains, and if there are desserts, well you can know when to spot those. I vary things by color. I know that by looking at a culture's food I can determine if they like lots of vegies, sugar or protein in their dishes.
You can learn the differences from your country to your asian country. Like in my country, they use rose water in may of their dishes but in America it is hardly used at all. It is very nice to learn the differences between other cultures in a fun exciting way. like in this case, it is in a way many kids like, food.
You can learn about a countries cuisine by looking at what types of food is on their plates. Asian cuisine has a lot of seafood because they are near so much water. They also eat a lot of rice in their dishes. Some of the dishes they make can bring so examples of their culture. It can say that the country may need more fisherman.
I think you can learn many things about a country by looking at the cuisine. The cuisine of a country means the foods that are made or are in the country. When I put on my thinking cap I thought of one very important thing you can learn. That one thing was you could learn about the country's culture. That is what I think you can learn by looking at the cuisine of a country.
What i think i will learn is that some cultures taste is very different. This is how i know because some dishes might be very spicy or very mild just by its look. Also there is new spices and different ''secret family ingredients'' in other culture and families. My last way is some people will have very sweet or sugary desert when some people will have very plain cooked fish. This is how you can learn cultures by food.
i think that looking/tasting a cuisine from a different country can show you many things. for example, it shows you what food/crops are popular in the country. my country is south korea and rice is very popular in south korea so i searched south korean foods and almost everything had rice in it. It also tells you what kind of diet they have if it is a lot of natural ingrediants or processed.
The only lesson I can think you could learn would be the geography and crops that country grows. Maybe also if there are different classes of people based on their quality of food.
Food can tell you what they had to use and what they have a lot of like fish or corn it also shows what technology they have in this country.
You can know if they harvest grains so then they have rice or if they go fishing then they eat fish or if they harvest fruits then they eat food with fruit in it.
I think you can learn more about te country because you can see what kind of spices or other foods they include in their food and how they make it could tell about they country since people can make something from a different country but it might not be they same because it could be made a different way in one country and in another.
